Some Notes from the Studio of Julia Nelson-Gal

Julia Nelson-Gal: I am a mixed-media artist who has recently incorporated printmaking into my process. I make monoprints, collographs, photopolymer plates and etchings that I combine with collage and hand-coloring. All my work expresses an interest in time, change, deterioration and mortality. It also reveals my long-held love for photography and for previously owned common objects. I’m currently teaching classes in printmaking, collage and classes for teenagers and children for the City of Palo Alto’s Art Program.
